Starting a drumbeat for the open web

August 20, 2009 § 2 Comments

Back from holidays, ideas are evolving quickly on the next million Mozillians thread I started late last month. People have provided great feedback and evolutions. Some are also saying: ‘let’s clarify and communicate what we’re actually trying to achieve here.’

Mozilla Drumbeat

The best clarification so far: ‘we’re starting a drumbeat for the open web.’ This is a mix of ideas from Chelsea / Frank / Mitchell. And I like it alot. Based on this, I am proposing we use ‘Drumbeat’ as an umbrella code name for the collection of new community engagement ideas being developed.

This week, I have been talking to tons of people to get feedback and ideas on Drumbeat. I started just doing notes on my laptop, but then realized they’d be more useful in public. So, I will start a set of ‘Drumbeat notes’ postings today. They’ll be rough.
